We're baaaaack. Sorry it has been 143213 years since we have written a review. I started a new job here in the real world, so all my time and energy was going into getting that situated. However, now that everything is on a roll, I'm ready to pop open some wine with ya again. Tbh I didn't do this tasting with any food. I'm not even sure I ate dinner that night. I've been that busy. So maybe this one's better with food, but I wouldn't know.
Name: Bella Sera Rosso
Price: $10.99 at Total Wine
TLDR: Meh
Alcohol Content: 7.5%
Residual Sugar: "Semi-Sweet" but no numbers
Vintage: No vintage given, probably a blend of vintages
Winery: Bella Sera Wines
Varietal: "Red Wine," super descriptive I know. The bottle says its vinted and bottled in CA, and generally in California Rosso wine is made from zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon.
About the Grapes: Cab is a red grape varietal tends to be tanniny and full bodied. It's a Cali favorite, but it's also widely used in Bordeaux blends. Cab Sauv is a hearty grape and tends to not die easily. It produces dark colored and high alcohol wine that is fairly dry and has notes of tobacco leaves. Zinfandel is also high in alcohol, known for being jammy, fruity and peppery. It's originally from Croatia and can produce different bodied styles depending on where it is grown. Generally zinfandel is not meant to be aged.

Bottle Description: Discover the sophistication and allure of Bella Sera. Our Rosso is a light-bodied, fruity red wine with delicate aromas of red berry, a touch of sweetness, and a delightfully refreshing finish. Enjoy Chilled.
Color: Deep tawny (Like a brown-ish red)
Nose: A lot of dark fruit on the nose. Berry and plum, with some mild strawberry. On first whiff it smells like Jesus juice (aka Communion Wine) so I was a little nervous.
Taste: It's not as sweet as I like, but in all fairness it is labeled "semi-sweet." It's somewhat triangular and really hits certain parts of your mouth with acid. Very mild tannin and minimal bubbles. I wanted more bubble though. If there were no bubbles at all, I would not like it.
Finish: It has a rather long finish that lingers like after you eat doritos.
Decanted: This saved it for me. I drank it chilled after a couple days sitting in the fridge and it was much more pleasant. It had no lingering communion taste. This is the only way I'd drink again.

Or, if you have an idea for a wine review, we'd love to hear that too. We go to Total Wine at least twice a month, and are always looking for good new recommendations. Enjoy!
